Southwark Council’s draft Old Kent Road Area Action Plan has been submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for an Examination in Public (EIP) which will begin on 9 June 2026.

The EIP is an independent process, which will be led by the Government’s Planning Inspector Glen Rollings (BA Hons, MAUD MRTPI), to assess whether the Area Action Plan is sound.

The process provides independent scrutiny of the plan, ensuring it has been prepared in line with legal and procedural requirements and that it is justified, effective and consistent with national policy. The process enables the Inspector to recommend whether the plan can be adopted or not.
