The changing face of
Old Kent Road

The Old Kent Road & South Bermondsey Partnership has decorated Old Kent Road with lamppost banners that celebrate the area’s diversity.

The people featured all live, work, study or play in our neighbourhood.

Old Kent Road is changing and the Partnership is working with Southwark Council to make sure these changes benefit everyone in the area.

The Partnership wants people to take pride in the neighbourhood and it wants to help local people and businesses to thrive and prosper.

New residents and businesses are moving to Old Kent Road. They should be welcomed while we continue to respect and value the contribution of those already here.

The Partnership wants to bring everyone together. It believes in fostering strong, diverse communities and is committed to supporting the council’s Southwark Stands Together values.

About the Partnership

The National Lottery planted the seed for the Old Kent Road and South Bermondsey Partnership almost ten years ago.

Originally known simply as South Bermondsey Partnership, it was one of 150 groups across the country awarded £1m to address disadvantaged communities in their area.

The Partnership became a charitable incorporated organisation in August 2020 (Charity Commission registration number 1190729).

It recently changed its name to recognise the importance to the community of Old Kent Road’s regeneration.
