Construction Skills Open Day

Come along to The Blue on Saturday 8 May to find out about jobs and training opportunities in the construction industry.

The Southwark Construction Skills Centre Open Day is for local residents who would like to find out more about free construction training opportunities.

It will be held on the site of the former Thorowgoods department store in The Blue market place,  223 Southwark Park Road on Saturday 8 May from 8.30am to 1.30pm.

If you’re looking for work or would like to retrain for a job in the construction industry, come along to find out how the Skills Centre could help you.

Up to 500 Bermondsey residents will be offered free construction and digital skills training at the Southwark Construction Skills Centre in the coming months, thanks to a partnership between The Skills Centre, The Blue Bermondsey, Big Local Works and Southwark Council.

Those taking part in the training will have direct access to job opportunities at the £500m redevelopment of the former Peek Frean biscuit factory, as well as work on Canada Water and Old Kent Road developments.

The Open Day will be a socially distanced and fully COVID-19 compliant event.
