Have your say on Old Kent Road’s conservation areas

From time to time the council reviews its conservation areas and in May we published three draft appraisals:

Glengall Road
Trafalgar Avenue
Cobourg Road

These appraisals consider what makes each area historically special and what it is about their character or appearance that we should preserve or improve.

In particular, we want to know:

– What do you think is special about each area’s architectural history?
– Which parts of each conservation area do you think need improvement?
– Do you think that controlling changes to windows, doors and boundary walls/fences would help to better preserve these areas?
– Are there any cultural and social stories about the past (residents, groups or events) that contribute to the history of each area?

From 16 July to 1 August we’ll be asking these questions and more at a special exhibition at 231 Old Kent Road.

Open from 10am-4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the exhibition will be a chance to find out more about each area and to have your say on plans for the future.

Comments can also be submitted until 30 August on the council’s planning portal under the following planning application numbers:

Cobourg Road: 19/AP/1438
Trafalgar Avenue: 19/AP/1439
Glengall Road: 19/AP/1440
