Transport for London (TfL) wants to improve the junction of Trafalgar Avenue and Old Kent Road.

Proposed improvements Trafalgar Avenue junction

TfL has proposed changes which aim to provide safer, better facilities for pedestrians, cyclists and bus passengers and wants to hear your opinion.

The changes would include:
–  Introducing a ‘green man’ crossing at Trafalgar Avenue
–  Extending the westbound bus lane from the Trafalgar Avenue bus stop (WJ) to the junction stop line

To make the changes, TfL would need to ban the left turn for all road users from Old Kent Road into Trafalgar Avenue westbound towards the Bricklayers Arms.

The proposals support the Mayor of London’s Transport Strategy and Vision Zero ambition to reduce serious injuries on London’s streets to zero by 2041.

The proposals also form part of the Mayor’s plan for Healthy Streets; a long-term vision to enable more people to walk, cycle and use public transport by making London’s streets healthier, safer and more welcoming.

The consultation closes on 12 August.
