Zero waste, circular economy
The council’s Borough Plan aims to grow Southwark’s economy, investing in town centres and supporting thriving sectors such as construction, cultural and creative, and biomedical to grow.
But the economic recovery must also help tackle the Climate Emergency.
The council intends to create 1,000 green jobs and develop new workspaces, including affordable workspaces for small and medium sized businesses. It also wants to minimise construction waste and promote the reuse of materials and the circular economy.
